Since December 2023, Ms. Tahira Mammen has served the Chief of NSA’s Artificial Intelligence Security Center, driving the Agency’s adoption and use of secure AI systems through collaboration with experts in Academia, Industry, and the Intelligence Community.

Prior to this, Ms. Mammen was the Cybersecurity Director at National Security Agency – Texas (NSAT), charged with ensuring the NSAT Cybersecurity teams operated seamlessly as NSA enterprise and global partners, preventing and eradicating threats to U.S. National Security Systems and critical infrastructure. Ms. Mammen joined NSA in 2005, entering through the Cryptologic Mathematician Development Program; she has spent more than a decade in Computer Network Operations both as a cyber-analyst and leading innovation initiatives, and has served in multiple technical and leadership roles at NSA Texas.

Ms. Mammen is a committed advocate and mentor, serving in multiple leadership roles within the Agency. She is a passionate servant-leader that dedicates herself to initiatives that aim to improve the Agency's culture and resiliency.

Ms. Mammen has Bachelor’s degrees in Russian Linguistics & Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College and a Master’s Degree in Statistics from Rice University. Ms. Mammen holds multiple cyber and intelligence-related certifications and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Ms. Mammen lives in Olney, Maryland with her husband and their children. She is an avid reader, who finishes 2-3 books each month.
