Kathy Suber has served as the Democratic Budget Director for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence since March of 2021.  She began her tenure with the House of Representatives in January of 2019 as the Staff Director for the Intelligence Modernization and Readiness Subcommittee.  She served as an Intelligence Officer in the Intelligence Community (IC) for over two decades.  Ms. Suber has held oversight joint duty assignments in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Executive Office of the President’s Office of Management and Budget. Most of her IC career was spent with the Central Intelligence Agency.  Her areas of expertise are strategic planning and policy in hard target operations, long-term budget builds, covert action, and counterintelligence.  Before her IC experiences, she worked in private industry for 11 years as a public accounting auditor for Grant Thorton, a senior accountant for Black Entertainment Television, and a regional comptroller for Pacific Architects and Engineers.

Ms. Suber received her undergraduate degree in accounting from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.  She and her husband of 36 years have one son and reside in Maryland.
