Mr. Wade was appointed as the Chief of The China Mission Group in October of 2022. His most recent position was the Chief of the Asia Pacific Regional Center from May 2020 to September 2022. In this position, he was responsible for driving the execution and integration of Defense intelligence collection, analysis, counter intelligence, and engagement on Indo-Pacific issues to close critical intelligence gaps and provide decision advantage to Warfighters, Defense policymakers, acquisition partners and National policymakers.

Prior to being selected as Chief, he served as the Deputy Chief for Analysis in the APRC beginning in April 2018. In this position he led APRC intelligence analysis for defense and security issues, managed the alignment and prioritization of APRC analytic personnel and resources.

From 2016 to April 2018, Mr. Wade served as the Deputy Chief for Analysis in the Americas Regional Center, managing DIA analysis regarding Latin American defense and security issues, global counter narcotics and transnational organized crime threats, worldwide threats to U.S. defense critical infrastructure, and foreign cyber threats to DoD systems.

Mr. Wade was the Senior Defense Intelligence Analyst for Northeast Asia from 2011 to 2016, serving as DIA’s senior subject matter expert and adviser to DIA leaders on Defense Intelligence issues relating to North Korea and Northeast Asia. He guided DIA’s research and analysis on foreign strategic intentions, military capabilities, and other security-related Northeast Asia issues, and drove analytic integration across the Defense Intelligence Enterprise to support senior DoD, Intelligence Community, and interagency customers.

Mr. Wade promoted to the Defense Intelligence Senior Level in 2007 as the Senior Defense Intelligence Analyst for the U.S. Pacific Command. He led intelligence research and analysis supporting DoD planning and operations across the Indo Asia-Pacific region, and managed the development of the command’s military and civilian analysts.

Mr. Wade began his career at the Intelligence Center Pacific at Camp Smith, Hawaii, as a military capabilities analyst supporting U.S. forces operating in South and Southwest Asia, and has over 30 years of experience in a wide variety of intelligence analysis, operations, management and leadership positions specializing in Asian defense and security issues.
