Dr. Yevgeniy Sirotin

Dr. Yevgeniy Sirotin is a Scientist Director at SAIC and the Technical Director of the SAIC Identity and Data Sciences Laboratory (IDSL) at the Maryland Test Facility (MdTF), supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate. He leads large-scale tests of biometric and identity systems, including the DHS S&T Biometric Technology Rallies and the Remote Identity Validation Technology Demonstration (RIVTD). Dr. Sirotin oversees a team of scientists and engineers conducting multidisciplinary applied research on biometric and identity systems, as well as human-algorithm teaming, with results published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. He has led the development of software platforms for data collection and analytics and is a co-inventor on several patents aimed at improving the accuracy and reliability of biometric identification systems. Dr. Sirotin also contributes to international standards, including serving as a co-editor of ISO/IEC 19795-10, a new standard for measuring demographic differentials in biometric systems.

Dr. Sirotin earned his PhD in Neurobiology and Behavior from Columbia University, focusing on neural systems. Prior to joining SAIC, he conducted research at The Rockefeller University, investigating the brain mechanisms underlying perception and behavior.

Residing in Maryland, Dr. Sirotin enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two sons.
