Suzanne Wilson Heckenberg has served as President of INSA and the INSA Foundation (501(c)(3) and the Intelligence and National Security Foundation (501 (c)(6) since December 1, 2019. In this role, she provides strategic and operational leadership for both the organizations, overseeing finance, corporate strategy, marketing, events, membership, and corporate partnerships. She is responsible for driving long-term growth initiatives that strengthen INSA's position, expand member value, and deepen engagement across the intelligence and national security community.
Since joining INSA in 2010, Suzanne has held a series of executive leadership roles, culminating in her appointment as the organization's first Chief Operating Officer. She led INSA's successful expansion beyond the Washington, D.C., region, establishing a national footprint through high-impact programming and strategic partnerships. Working in close partnership with the executive leadership team, Board of Directors, advisory councils, government leaders, and industry executives, Suzanne develops and executes initiatives that address the community's most pressing challenges while advancing collaboration between government, industry, and academia.
She also spearheaded the growth of the INSA Foundation, expanding its impact through a robust scholarship program, workforce development initiatives, and educational programming designed to strengthen and cultivate the next generation of intelligence and national security professionals
Prior to joining INSA, Suzanne served as Vice President of Marketing at Ripple Communications, a strategic communications firm, where she led integrated marketing and business development initiatives for clients across the public and private sectors.
