Dr. Nandita Balakrishnan

Dr. Nandita Balakrishnan is a Director of Intelligence at SCSP. Prior to joining SCSP, her career spanned academia and the public and private sectors. She was a pre-doctoral fellow at Stanford University’s Center for International Security and Cooperation. She was then a political analyst at the Central Intelligence Agency, where she authored several intelligence products including the President’s Daily Brief on South Asian domestic politics. She has also worked at a strategic intelligence and advisory firm, focusing on Asia-Pacific and sensitive projects. Nandita holds bachelor’s degrees in international studies and economics from Emory University and a master’s degree and a PhD in political science from Stanford University, where she focused on civil-military relations, political instability, and autocratic politics.
