Marcus Southerland is an FBI Supervisory Special Agent and Unit Chief in the Insider Threat Section of the FBI Security Division. He has 19 years of Bureau experience, beginning in the San Francisco Division’s Counterintelligence Program, where he also served on the SWAT Team. He later held supervisory roles at FBI Headquarters, worked cyber matters as part of the Birmingham Division’s Joint Cyber Task Force, and went on to lead both the Cyber and Counterintelligence programs for the Birmingham Division.
Before joining the FBI, Marcus served as a U.S. Army officer with assignments in Germany, Fort Bragg, and Afghanistan, and later worked for Gallo Winery in California, where he supported corporate contracts and financial operations. He holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Alabama and lives in Huntsville with his wife and two children.
