Larry Hanauer

Vice President for Policy

As Vice President for Policy, Larry drives INSA’s thought leadership, outreach and public affairs by managing the organization's policy councils, developing conferences, and publishing white papers and op-eds on issues of importance to the national security community. As the lead for INSA’s advocacy efforts with Congress and the executive branch, he promotes intelligence reform and modernization initiatives designed to improve industry’s support to Intelligence Community missions. 

Before joining INSA in 2016, Mr. Hanauer spent more than 20 years working on intelligence and national security issues on the House Intelligence Committee (HPSCI), in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, at the RAND Corporation, and at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Mr. Hanauer received his M.A.L.D. from Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and his B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania.
