Dr. Kristen Summers is VP and Technical Fellow, Data and AI at MANTECH, where she leads the technical aspects of the Data and AI practice. She is responsible for growing an organization of advanced technical practitioners with deep insight into the fields of analytics and AI and client mission needs. She focuses on both strategic and tactical approaches to bring state-of-the-art AI solutions to these clients. Her technical leadership also focuses on Research and Development goals, technical differentiation, and strategic technical solutions.
Dr. Summers was previously an Operating Unit CTO in Microsoft Federal, where she focused on bringing advanced technology to Government customers to help them solve their hard problems. She has been working in AI and related areas for over 20 years. She has led projects on topics such as multilingual natural language processing, enhancement of OCR, question answering, and event forecasting. Before joining Microsoft, she was a Distinguished Engineer and AI CTO in IBM’s Expert Labs.
She holds a PhD in Computer Science from Cornell University.
