David Imbordino currently serves as the Director of the National Security Agency’s Cybersecurity Directorate, and Deputy National Manager (DNM), National Security Systems (NSS)
Mr. Imbordino earned a Master of Science in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. He completed his undergraduate degree at Wheaton College in Illinois, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
Mr. Imbordino was awarded NSA/CSS’s highest civilian award, the Exceptional Civilian Service Award, in May 2015, and the Director of National Intelligence Exceptional Achievement Medal in 2015 for his contributions in Counterterrorism.
He received a Meritorious DISL Presidential Rank Award in February 2019. He also received NSA’s Superior Service Civilian Medal 2021 for his work leading NSA’s election security effort.
Mr. Imbordino started his career at NSA in 2001 in Tailored Access Operations (TAO). He has served in a wide variety of technical and managerial roles, including operator, technical director, and leader at every organizational level, including as a member of the Board of Directors. He currently serves as Director of the Cybersecurity Directorate charged with preventing and eradicating threats to U.S. National Security Systems and critical infrastructure.
