What led you to your career in national security?

I started my career in the banking industry, working at a credit union that supported the Intelligence Community. That exposure gave me an unexpected window into the mission and the people behind national security. Through that work, I learned about financial professionals supporting major government contractors, and eventually stepped into that world myself.

After a few years in financial roles, I moved into program management, and that’s where I knew I’d found the right fit. I love the mission, the sense of purpose, and the opportunities to grow while supporting something bigger than myself. The trajectory that comes with this career has kept me engaged and committed.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Helping the team grow. Watching people gain confidence, expand their skills, and achieve things they didn’t think they could, that’s the part of the job that feels truly meaningful. If I can help someone take a step they might not have taken on their own, that’s success to me.

What is the best career advice you have received?

The best advice I’ve received is to speak up,  all ideas deserve to be heard. I’ve also learned to speak from a space of confidence. Even when you’re still growing or don’t have every detail, trusting your own voice and perspective makes a huge difference. That shift has helped me step into bigger roles and contribute in more meaningful ways.

What’s one piece of advice you are still trying to master?

I am continually working on the discipline of leading at the right altitude,  trusting my team, providing guidance rather than direction, and giving people the room to grow. As I step further into senior‑level leadership, I’m learning to let go of the details I once managed closely and focus more on strategic vision, empowerment, and developing others. It’s a shift that requires intention, but it’s also one that strengthens both the team and the mission.

Who has inspired you?

My strongest influences have been my parents. They both worked incredibly hard and always put our family first. Their work ethic and commitment shaped the way I approach my career and leadership. They taught me to show up, follow through, and take pride in what I do.

What is your favorite movie, book, TV Show, or podcast?

Under the Tuscan Sun, by Frances Mayes, is a favorite of mine. The story is all about taking risks, trusting yourself, and stepping into the unknown even when it’s uncomfortable. That message resonates with me, sometimes the biggest growth comes from moments when you choose courage over certainty.

What’s one thing you want to change within the Intelligence Community?

I’d like to see more predictability and consistency in government processes overall. When timelines, requirements, and expectations are clearer, it allows for stronger planning, better execution, and more efficient use of resources, all of which benefit the mission.

Can you describe a skill you have carried throughout your career that has always proved to be valuable?

Preparation. Knowing the details, doing the work, walking into a room ready, that’s been one of my most reliable strengths. When you speak from a place of knowledge and preparation, you earn trust and build credibility.

What are your future career goals in the IC?

My goals are to deliver flawless execution for the mission and to pour into the next generation of leaders. Mentorship and developing talent are priorities for me. I want to continue building teams that are strong, confident, and capable, and to help shape the people who will carry the mission forward.

As I step further into senior‑level leadership, I’m learning to let go of the details I once managed closely and focus more on strategic vision, empowerment, and developing others. It’s a shift that requires intention, but it’s also one that strengthens both the team and the mission.
