November 13, 2025

Arlington, VA (November 13, 2025) – The Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) today announced the release of its 2025 Annual Report, marking a standout year defined by record participation, expanded programming, and growing influence across the intelligence and national security community.

Membership reached an all-time high, flagship events drew record attendance, and INSA’s thought leadership shaped critical conversations on AI integration, clearance reform, and insider risk management. From the standing-room-only 40th William Oliver Baker Award Dinner and record-breaking AFCEA/INSA Intelligence and National Security Summit to new regional and classified programs, INSA’s work reflected the community’s shared commitment to collaboration, innovation, and mission success.

"FY25 was one of INSA’s strongest years yet, driven by record engagement and a growing, connected membership,” said Suzanne Wilson Heckenberg, President of INSA and the INSA Foundation. “That growth reflects the trust our members place in INSA as a community where people come together to share ideas, strengthen partnerships, and advance the intelligence and national security mission. In the year ahead, we’ll keep building on that foundation, expanding regional engagement, deepening classified collaboration, and delivering even greater value to our community."

Key accomplishments include:

  • Building a Stronger Intelligence Community: Membership reached a record 180 organizations, including 42 new members and 22 small businesses, representing a diverse cross section of the defense industrial base, from global primes and mid-tier integrators to agile small businesses, technology innovators, and leading academic institutions.
  • Impactful Programming: Across 28 programs, INSA brought together more than 11,400 participants and 157 speakers for candid dialogue on top priorities and mission needs. From high-profile Leadership Dinners and regional Common Threads events to virtual Coffee & Conversation sessions, every program offered opportunities to connect and advance shared solutions.
  • Expanded Classified Programs: INSA increased its classified programming with four TS/SCI discussions and two classified "Common Threads" programs, drawing 900+ participants for in-depth conversations on cyber defense, space operations, and AI integration. These trusted, mission-focused exchanges featured senior leaders from NSA, NGA, NRO, DIA, and the U.S. Space Force.
  • Thought Leadership that Drives Action: INSA’s eight policy councils and subcommittees advanced practical insights through white papers, op-eds, and podcasts. Publications on AI and Insider Risk Management, Insider Theft of National Security Technologies, and clearance reform, informed policymakers and practitioners alike, while INSA's feedback to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy on the AI Action Plan underscored the importance of public-private collaboration.
  • Investing in the Next Generation: Through the INSA Foundation, $60,000 in scholarships were awarded o undergraduate and graduate students pursuing intelligence and national security careers. The Foundation also launched the inaugural AI Foundations: Skills-Building Workshop Series, underwritten by Knexus and Salesforce, to strengthen AI literacy and workforce readiness across the community.

The FY2025 Annual Report reaffirms INSA's enduring role as the premier organization for collaboration, connection, and practical problem-solving across the intelligence and national security community.
