February 7, 2024 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM INSA/NRECA Conference Center, Arlington, VA

On Wednesday, February 7, 2024 intelligence and national security professionals gathered in Arlington, VA for a breakfast and panel discussion, Zero Trust with Zero Budget. The program kicked off with speakers addressing the principles of Zero Trust and the first steps toward implementation for those with limited budgets. Topics for discussion included key priorities such as visibility, network segmentation, and monitoring, and why these these are important initial steps for most organizations.

Next, panelists discussed DoD and NSA views and recommendations of Zero Trust architecture, metrics and methods for measuring progress, and issues such as data classification and closed corporate software. The program closed with a conversation about the “mindset” of Zero Trust, the importance of public/private partnerships, and how Zero Trust is a continuous process. To the latter point, panelists concluded the key concept of Zero Trust is, 'It’s a journey.'
