Celebrating a Career of Service
Join INSA and intelligence community leaders from across academia, government, and industry on September 17 for a reception honoring former PDDNI Sue Gordon's 30+ years of dedicated service to our nation. This festive event takes place from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the INSA/NRECA conference center.
Sue Gordon's Career
Ms. Gordon started her intelligence career at the CIA as an analyst in the Office of Scientific and Weapons Research. In her 27-years at the agency, she rose to senior executive positions in each of the Agency's four directorates: operations, analysis, science, technology, and support. Ms. Gordon was instrumental to the creation of In-Q-Tel, the CIA venture capital accelerator, which has invested in technologies ranging from malware detection software to biochemical sensors to micro-batteries.
In recent years, Ms. Gordon served as the Deputy Director of NGA from 2015 to 2017, where she drove digital transformation efforts. Following her tenure at NGA, Ms. Gordon was sworn in as the fifth Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence (PDDNI) in 2017. In this role, she was an advocate for integrating intelligence across the IC, expanding outreach and public-private partnerships, driving innovation, and advancing diversity and inclusion.
