Building an AI Powered Intelligence Community

Join your IC colleagues on Wednesday, March 4 for this full-day conference focused on the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for U.S. national security. Speakers will address the ways AI is being applied in the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense to advance national security missions, the use of AI for cybersecurity, and the challenges of developing a skilled workforce – particularly in the cleared community. In addition, a panel of congressional staff will discuss Congress’s priorities for AI funding, missions, and research & development.
Morning Keynote: The Honorable Katharina McFarland
With over 30 years of government service, Hon. Katharina (Katrina) McFarland is recognized as a leading subject-matter expert on government acquisition, program management, and procurement. She is Commissioner for the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, serves on the board of directors of SAIC and the Defense Intelligence Memorial Foundation, is Chairman of the Board of Army Research and Development at the National Academies of Science, and Director on the Procurement Round Table.

Afternoon Keynote: Dean Souleles
Dean Souleles is the Chief Technology Advisor and Director of the Augmenting Intelligence-Using Machines (AIM) Innovation Hub at ODNI. Previously, Mr. Souleles served as the Chief Technology Officer at the National Counterintelligence and Security Center and as the Special Assistant for Technology at ODNI. Having spent several years working in the private sector as well, holding leadership roles at various organizations and even starting a company of his own, Mr. Souleles brings a unique perspective to his current position.
