Building an AI Powered Intelligence Community

Join your IC colleagues on Wednesday, March 4 for this full-day conference focused on the the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) for U.S. national security. Speakers will address the ways AI is being applied in the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense to advance national security missions, the use of AI for cybersecurity, and the challenges of developing a skilled workforce – particularly in the cleared community. In addition, a panel of congressional staff will discuss Congress’s priorities for AI funding, missions, and research & development.

Morning Keynote: The Honorable Katharina McFarland

With over 30 years of government service, Hon. Katharina (Katrina) McFarland is recognized as a leading subject-matter expert on government procurement. She is Commissioner for the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, serves on the board of directors of SAIC and the Defense Intelligence Memorial Foundation, is Chairman of the Board of Army Research and Development at the National Academies of Science, and Director on the Procurement Round Table.

Afternoon Keynote: Dr. Catherine Marsh

Taking on the role in Fall 2019, Dr. Catherine Marsh currently serves as the Director of the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA). Previously, she has held several different positions within the CIA's Directorate of Science and Technology (DS&T) and was the Deputy Director of IARPA from 2013-2015. Dr. Marsh is a Director of National Intelligence Fellow and a member of DS&T's Distinguished Expert Cadre.
