A Conversation on CISA’s Efforts to Ensure Cybersecurity for Organizations Big and Small

During the July 21 Coffee & Conversation program, John Felker, Assistant Director for Integrated Operations at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), spoke about the work that CISA is doing to ensure cybersecurity for both government and industry as the majority of the workforce shifts to a virtual environment.

He highlighted five key priorities that CISA is focusing on:

  • Addressing emerging risks posed by China,
  • Enhancing soft target security,
  • Safeguarding elections,
  • Securing federal government networks,
  • and protecting industrial control systems.

Mr. Felker also told Coffee & Conversation viewers about CISA's Cyber Essentials Toolkit, which is aimed at businesses and government entities to help safeguard information and cyber platforms. These toolkits, offered with varying levels of technicality, ensure the network safety of organizations from small businesses all the way to large government agencies with complex network systems and classified information.
